Dachau & Landshut: Warning Strike in Public Transport on February 27 & 28, 2026

As part of the ongoing collective bargaining negotiations, the trade union ver.di has called for a nationwide warning strike in public transport on Friday and Saturday.

• Munich: The U-Bahn, tram, and bus services up to line number 199 are affected.
  • For bus services, a significantly reduced level of operation may be possible because the private bus companies operating on behalf of MVG are not participating in the strike. The priority is to distribute the available buses as evenly as possible across the network. They will ensure basic service citywide. However, depending on capacity and traffic conditions, major irregularities may occur.
  • How U-Bahn and tram services can operate depends on staff availability. If enough employees report for duty, operations may be resumed on individual lines or sections. The initial focus is on line U6 and tram line 20. On Saturday, staff will also be available for the new line 14.
  • Night service on the U-Bahn will be canceled on both Friday and Saturday. Above ground, night service will likely be possible only in a very limited form using buses.
• Dachau: From Friday, February 27 (start of service), until Saturday, February 28, 2026 (end of service), no city buses will be operating in Dachau. All six lines are affected: 719, 720, 722, 724, 726, and 744.
• Landshut: It is therefore to be expected that only a few buses will be running on these two days within the Stadtwerke Landshut network. Only line 609 (Altstadt – Hauptbahnhof – Münchnerau – Gündlkoferau) will operate as usual on both days. On Friday, the school and commuter lines E10, E28, E29, E33, E34, E74, E76, and E77 will be running. These are operated by a cooperation partner of Stadtwerke. If additional services become possible on the strike days, they will be published as early as possible in the morning on www.stadtwerke-landshut.de and in the SWL app.
